Bat catching is a family business!

04 Jul Bat catching is a family business!

Emma, Jo and Darwin help out with a night of pit-tagging Leptonycteris yerbabuenae at our research site in the Sierra Cacachilas.  Jo had to brave her claustrophobia to come inside the mine with us, but she was a big help.  Both Jo and Darwin are rabies-vaccinated so they could help process the bats and Emma helped out by taking down the data.  We caught and tagged about 100 bats, including many super chubby males!  It’s fantastic when you get to share your work with your kids.
